GRANOLA

GRANOLA

Homemade Granola

Ingredients:

2 cups oats

1/2 cup slivered almonds or pecan halves

1/2 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)

1/4 cup chia seeds

1/4 cup sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 Tablespoons maple syrup, agave nectar, or honey

2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1/4 cup each dried blueberries and dried cherries

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F

Mix the oats, nuts, cinnamon, and seeds together on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Drizzle with maple syrup, agave nectar, or honey and olive oil. Mix it all together and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, stirring every 5 minutes.

When cool, mix in the dried fruit.

Notes:

Store in an airtight container. Use within two weeks (if you can make it last that long)

Add some M&M's, put it in a baggie, and tell everyone it's your "healthy trail mix" while you carry it around munching all day. No one has to know it's just your excuse to eat some candy.
