FRENCH DRESSING

FRENCH DRESSING

French Dressing

Ingredients:

1 large clove garlic, minced

2/3 cup sunflower, safflower, or other light vegetable oil

1/4 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

3 tablespoons honey, more or less to taste

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon paprika

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Shake before using.

Notes:

This is the classic recipe for french dressing, and a great base for personalizing. I used an orange muscat champagne vinegar instead of the apple cider vinegar, dried chives, and two fresh garlic cloves instead of the garlic powder. Amazing.

A classic variation of this recipe is catalina dressing. Same basic recipe but with lemon juice and tomato paste. Try that, too.

If this dressing doesn't make you want to eat more salads, then there is no hope for you. Shut up and eat your bacon.

Hmmm... bacon....
